PSAA  900 ROUND and a Reversed 900 Round

(You will shoot PSAA 900 round Saturday and shoot the distances in reverse on Sunday - see below for the schedule)

Special notice to all archers:

** Due to the schedule change and no break during the shoot - there will NOT be food for purchase!

State Target Round: It was voted by the board to adopt following format:

Saturday-900 Round -shooting in the typical format of longest distance to shortest distance.  Sunday-900 Round (reversed)-shooting the shortest distance to the longest distance. 

 

Notices - ALL SHOOTERS will be required to check in with registration prior to shooting - Bow inspection for Barebow and Bowhunter shooters will also be done in conjunction with this - please have your equipment ready.

Check in - ALL shooters will be required to check in prior to shooting - This will take place at the registration area under the pavillion.  Shooters that need equipment inspected (Bowhunter & Barebow Divisions) will also have this take place during this time.  Please have your equipment ready for check in.    Check in will run from 7:00am - 7:45 am - all changes to divisions / classes must be completed during check in!

 

Archers at this round will be permitted to opt for two target faces provided that there are at least 3 shooters on the butt and ALL of the archers on the target butt agree to two target faces (10 – 6 ring.)

Scorecards will be picked up during check-in on Saturday.

Time Limit: 4 minutes and 30 seconds to shoot all 6 arrows at a time for each end. 

Camping: A limited number of space available for rent on a first come basis. Call the PSAA office by Friday, June 11th to arrange space.  

 

*It is advised that archers bring arrow lubricant for their arrows.  It is extremely important that the archers hold the target butts while removing their arrows from the matts.  Failure to do so may result in equipment being broken.   

   

**Shooting Rotation if any will be determined by the target group.   

 
Practice available on Friday after the shooting field is set up and Saturday after shooting score cards are collected.  Be safe and respectful and appoint a range captain to clear the line.  Please be sure to return all target butts to the distance that they were set at.

Directions to New Kingstown Fire Hall Field

From I-81 N – Take exit 52A to merge onto US-11 N/ Harrisburg Pike toward New Kingstown.  Continue to follow US-11 N approximately 2.7 miles.  Turn right onto N. Locust Point Rd.  Continue straight through the stop sign and the fire hall is on the right.

 

From I-81 S – Take exit 52 for US-11.  Keep left and follow the signs for US-11 N.  Continue to follow US-11 N approximately 2.7 miles.  Turn right onto N. Locust Point Rd.  Continue straight through the stop sign and the fire hall is on the right.

 

From PA Turnpike – Take the Carlisle Exit – 226 and merge onto US-11 N.  Continue to follow US-11 N approximately 4.7 miles.  Turn right onto N. Locust Point Rd.  Continue straight through the stop sign and the fire hall is on the right.

 

PSAA General Rules & Information for All State Championship Rounds

(Yearbook is available for order each year via yearbook order form.)

 

Opening Ceremonies & Announcements: Each Tournament will begin with announcements at 8am each day and official scoring to follow.  **For the Indoor Tournament Only – there will be second opening announcements at noon for the start of that line with official scoring to follow.
   
Target assignments: Target assignments will be posted on Facebook the night prior to the tournament.  They will also be available during check -in.

You WILL NOT receive any confirmation for your shoot registration. You only need to check in at the registration table if you name is highlighted on the sheet or you are trying to register that morning for the shoot.   
**For Indoors you will be placed on the line you signed up for. The time you select will be for BOTH days.   If there is a problem or we need to make a change, you will be contacted by phone.  

 

Equipment Inspections Bowhunter & Barebow Divisions: Each shooter in these divisions must have their equipment (primary and any back up equipment that may be used) inspected and scorecard verified to determine that the equipment is legal for the division based on the rules found in the PSAA rulebook. Inspection time is 7:00-7:45am for each shoot.  (At Indoors the Noon line inspection time is 11:00 – 11:45am)   Failure to have this completed during inspection time will result in the shooter being placed in the unlimited division.  ** Please note that any archer’s equipment may be inspected at any time based on the PSAA rulebook. **  

 

Classification: An announcement will be made prior to the start of the tournament and you will then be asked to surrender your current Official PSAA classification card to the official.  You do not need to present a classification card if you shoot any of the following: AA class, Traditional Longbow, Traditional Recurve, Senior or Senior-Plus Division, or Crossbow.  Everyone else must have an up-to-date classification card.  We absolutely will NOT accept any Conference classification cards.  The classification card you present at this or any other State Championship tournament must be an Official PSAA Classification card.  If you do not have your class card or it is not properly marked, you will be required to shoot AA class.  There is ample time to take care of all classification before the tournament.

 

Advance registration is mandatory:  Late fees will be assessed on all entries postmarked after the Tuesday following the regional. Walk-on shooters will be accommodated only if space is available.  All walk-on shooters mustpay the late fee.  Absolutely no exceptions!  Registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis.  Send your registration in early to secure your spot. 

 

Refunds: If you cannot attend this tournament but have paid the required registration fee, you must contact the PSAA Office – by PHONE– on or before the Monday prior to the shoot to be eligible for a 50% refund.

 

Clothing:  Each archer must be fully attired to participate.  There is no set requirement, but please dress in family friendly attire.  
 

Scorecards: Scorecards will be handed out during check-in on Saturday.

At the end of shooting on Saturday, each individual archer is responsible for his/her own score cards.  Please make certain that the scorecards are properly filled out and initialed stating that everything is correct and submit them to the registration area.  Archers will be responsible for bringing their card back with them on Sunday.  

On Sunday at the completion of the entire tournament, each individual archer is responsible for turning in his/her score cards to the registration committee and for picking up his/her classification card. Please do not forget to pick up your class card!  

 

Targets: All Archers will shoot the targets provided by the PSAA for the State Championship Tournament.  The targets will be available at the start of the shoot. Archers will not be permitted to get targets ahead of time.  Also, per the rules in the PSAA Yearbook, no markings of any kind may be place on a target. At any time during a tournament, the Range Captains have the authority to have a target be replaced when scoring lines are not easily determined.  
 

Teams:  On Sunday, a master team scorecard will be provided for the members of your team. The team captain is responsible for picking up the team scorecard; for getting and recording all team members’ scores; for completing the team scorecard; for returning the completed card to the registration committee.  The total score from both days will be used for the team score.  Plaques will be awarded to the winning team(s).

 

Awards:  Sunday, at the completion of the tournament and after all scores have been properly compiled, the official Awards Ceremony will be held.  We encourage you to stay for this event as awards are no longer mailed. Awards will be given in all divisions and all classes based on the following:  7 or more shooters – 1st, 2nd, & 3rdplaces awarded, 4-6 shooters -1st& 2ndplaces awarded, 1*-3 shooters-1stplace awarded *If there is only one shooter, the archer must make class on one of the two days. Team awards and Husband and Wife Awards will also be announced at this time. 
 

Membership: You will notice on your shoot registration form that the form will not be accepted until your current year of PSAA membership dues are paid .If you want, you may send both your PSAA membership application and the shoot registration form in together.  Thanks for your help!           

 

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE PERMITTED DURING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS!
